Bindbeutel to AHC

Governor Jay Nixon has appointed Joe Bindbeutel to the Administrative Hearing Commission. During session Bindbeutel had been nominated for the Public Service Commission, but that nomination didn’t make it to the Senate floor during the final weeks. As Nixon made other recess appointments, speculation began to heat up that Bindbeutel was not going to the PSC after all.

Another Nixon nominee in this category is John Temporiti who was nominated to the MDFB during session, but hasn’t been heard from since.

Right now the five-seat commission has two Republicans and two Democrats, so one might expect Nixon to act soon to give Democrats a working majority. To fill the vacancy, Nixon may look to add some diversity to the commission as the four current commissioners are all white men.
