Harry Kennedy is termed. The district is 50-50, so could be a battleground.
Dems look like they're united around Joan Barry as Sue Schoemehl told me recently that she won't seek the seat.
Meanwhile the GOP side will probably show Jim Lembke as a candidate. But he has some detractors within his party, so a primary is not out of the question there.
In largely Catholic Southwest City/County, a pro-life Dem easily wins.
Posted by Brian on Thu., Mar 15, 2007 at 2:05 PMJoan Barry is still $73,000 in debt from her unimpressive fourth place finish in her last run for office. A more progressive Democrat could just energize the base and take the primary.
Posted by stlwatcher on Thu., Mar 15, 2007 at 6:17 PMI agree stlwatcher, There are some very good Potential candidates that are
"prevention first" Pro-choice Dems. I hope they really look at this race.
Coventional wisdom said that we could not have a Pro-choice Senator in the 4th also. But with a strong candidate and a good message we can win this one too.
How much of a pension does Kennedy get upon leaving office?
