Polls are dead in Ward 8 this morning.
As in the diebold electronic machines? What do you mean "dead?" There are no workers?
Posted by Douglas Duckworth on Tue., Mar 6, 2007 at 7:47 AMI cast the 46th ballot at my polling place (17th Ward, precincts 4 and 5) at 8am.
Posted by Clark on Tue., Mar 6, 2007 at 9:06 AM#22 at my precinct in Ward 9 at, you guessed it, 9 a.m.
Oddly, I was forced to show a photo ID to vote. Thought that idea didn't make it past the state legislature last year.
Posted by 9thwardvoter on Tue., Mar 6, 2007 at 10:29 AMThere was one other voter leaving and one coming in when I voted in the 13th Ward around 8:30 this morning.
Posted by Tim on Tue., Mar 6, 2007 at 10:57 AMI was the only person voting at Ames School (precincts 4 & 6) in Ward 5 at 9:00 a.m.
Posted by Michael on Tue., Mar 6, 2007 at 11:07 AMVoting at the same Eighth Ward polling place as Dave, I was the only voter at 10:30, with one Republican judge in precinct seven sound asleep at his desk.
Sigh.
Posted by Thomas on Tue., Mar 6, 2007 at 11:23 AMI voted at Roosevelt around 11:30 (6th ward, 7th precinct). There were TONS of illegally placed campaign signs!) in the medians and tree lawns, but I won't say whose they were, other than to say they weren't Christian's. Anyway, I overheard an election worker say that 75 people had voted already. A voter noted that 75 was pretty good, especially since it was before the late afternoon/after-work rush.
Our volunteer operatives at the other branches say that turnout this morning has been pretty light, although I don't have exact numbers. There was reportedly a hilarious and rather mortifying contretemps at Shenandoah School this morning, when a very angry Reed supporter began shouting obscenities, much to the chagrin of her fellow campaign workers.
