Stop by the Brentwood OfficeMax (Eager Rd) anytime tomorrow, Friday, between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and help our Marines by donating school supplies for Iraqi children.
That's Tim Embree. He used to help Robin Carnahan with fundraising. Now he's in Iraq as part of a 12-man team of military advisors, the guys that train the Iraqi Army.
Tim's team is located in Anbar Province and is led by Lt. Col. Roderick Arrington, of University City. Other St. Louis area men on the team are Master Sergeant Russ Avery of Fenton, Gunnery Sergeant J. Sullivan of High Ridge. They are part of a US Marine Corps reserve unit from Bridgeton, 3rd Battallion 24th Marines.
McGraw Milhaven, KTRS 550, will host the event. For more information call 314-965-1017
Tim is a GREAT guy. I've known him for years and he has always been a generous guy and a leader. This makes sense. By the way he was also one of Gephardt's guys in Iowa in 04!
Posted by BNB on Thu., Jan 18, 2007 at 10:57 PMNo surprise Tim is doing good deeds. He's a hell of a good guy. (Also in the Slay camp in 05.) Keep up the good work, Tim, and we'll send those kids some school supplies!
Posted by Lori on Fri., Jan 19, 2007 at 10:29 AMGREAT event! Raised $10G's before noon! McGraw was great as were Tim's parents and Tim's girlfriend, Kristen Hinman, all of whom put it together. There were alot of Tim stories going around between Ron Waterman, Mike Kelly and many others! Fredbird was there eating everyones head.
Master Card donated 1,000 soccer balls. Navis Packing is packing up the balls & school supplies at no cost. The St. Louis Cardinals, NOT Cardinal Care, is paying the mailing costs to Iraq. All this is very expensive for each company. MADCO Printing and Advertising did a vinyl banner and is printing up letters to the kids explaining who and why the Marines are doing this.
Lastly and just as important Office Max donated some paper banners and is handling the purchase of the school supplies. Everyone involved should be commended.
