Last night after their forum, their membership voted to endorse Lewis Reed.

Any clue how many members of the 15th ward democrats voted? It seemed like half the room was press and supporters of one candidate or the other. It seemed like they had maybe 10 members there to vote.

I'd be curious about the total number of votes, if that constituted a quorum of their open membership, and what the breakout was between the two candidates.

Sorry Steve, we do not publish our vote counts. But I will assure you that we did have a quorum of voting members voting at the endorsement meeting that followed the forum. Our by-laws prohibit us from making an endorsement without one.

Jan, do your bylaws specifically state the outcome of the votes will not be published?

From your membership form:
"The 15th Ward Democrats is an “open” Ward Organization, meaning that the candidates and issues to be endorsed will be selected by all eligible members of the Ward Organization, not just an elite one or two people."

So we know it is not an elite one or two, but how do we know it is not an elite five or six?
