Carnahans back Nixon
According to insiders, Robin Carnahan phoned Jay Nixon today. She told him, "We're with you."
Recent rumors had Carnahan making phone calls to gauge political support for a gubernatorial run.
Today she told Nixon that she'll be running for re-election for Secretary of State and supporting him for governor.

You just said what a friend of mine and I have been wondering for well over a year. Joe Maxwell is the wild card when it comes to our ticket in '08. If he wanted to run against Nixon he would beat him, Jay Nixon doesn't excite anyone except his old college buddy who works over at Ameren. The progressive wing of the party has little love for Jeremiah and his lack of charisma leaves you yawning. The simple fact is, outside of southwest Missouri Joe Maxwell can compete everywhere in this state.
