How does this play out in the Ward? Does Triplett or any candidate in the 6th run the risk of alienating voters in coming out in support of a Board President candidate? Also, will this help rally any black voters who were sitting on the fence with Reed?

Glad to hear that she has finally endorsed Lewis. Wonder why it took so long for the vice pres of the sixth ward dems to endorse lewis? she apparently didn't support him last week when asked if she supported him, now christian saller is the only one waffling.

The question is, Who Is Lewis supporting?

Given labor's support for Triplett's candidacy, does that bode well for a labor endorsement of Reed's campaign as well?

Triplett's labor connections could be beneficial for the Reed campaign, especially with the campaign limits out the door in January. Also, may be good momentum for Reed's campaign in attracting younger, progressive voters.

Will the Reed/Shrewsbury race reveal a split among city progressives?

Shrewsbury seems to have garnered the support of the Tower Grove South progressives.

Is Reed angling for the central corridor, young black, and pro-labor progressives?

This is about as newsworthy as Baringer endorsing Shrewsbury. What I want to know is where Shrewsbury and Reed each stand on the BJC lease and now the St. Louis Centre TIF.

Personally, I favor the former deal with increased payments and relocated park facilities, yet oppose the latter if backed by general revenue (but would favor a standard TIF). In other words, I'm looking for an aldermanic president who may sometimes vote with the Mayor but always arrive to their crucial vote independently of Slay's position.

Don't Count on a Labor Council or City Labor Club endorsment for Reed; I suspect the Council will leave the race open and various Unions will line up on either side of the Reed/Shrewsberry Contest.

Tower Grove South progressives? Who in the tarnation are they? How many of them are there? Who are their leaders? When and where do they meet? What is their win-loss record in citywide elections? What is their "progressive" agenda?

I ask these things because I cannot locate a Tower Grove South website, let alone one relating to their politics. There's a Tower Grove Heights Neighborhood Association. But it represents a mere 12 block corner within CDA's TGS area (Arsenal to Tholozan/Chippewa and Kingshighway to Grand) and a fraction of the TGS population of 14,700 people.
