Declared yesterday Cardinals Day.
But apparently didn't get a great reception at the rally.
When I heard Blunt get booed I thought 'sports fans and politicians--they always get booed'. But then Dooley and Mayor Slay were introduced and received warm welcomes. You know how serious Blunt's troubles are when that happy crowd couldn't bring themselves to welcome him.
Places where nobody wants to live indeed. (harumph)
Posted by ellen on Mon., Oct 30, 2006 at 10:16 AMI was in the Stadium and the boos for Blunt were everywhere. completely drown out any applause he might have had. I'm one of those guys who won't boo but just won't clap when someone I dont like is up, and I was actually taken aback at the loudness of the booing. Not just a few disgruntled fans, more like a pretty sizable majority of the crowd.
Posted by Ben D. on Mon., Oct 30, 2006 at 10:56 AMit was very loud, i dont think people knew who Dooley was but his remarks were short and good so he got a tepid applause, and Slay got a good cheer, but Blunt was boooed unmercifily.
