Danger!

Slay didn't return calls; but they were able to get Sam Dawson on the line.

UPDATE: Now comes the inevitable back-spin. Look at the Metropolitan Areas. We're #68.
It's nice that Franklin County, Lincoln County (et al) are bringing our stats down. Still I live in St. Louis City, not St. Louis MSA.

We do rank first in murder when you measure just within the arbitrary boundary of St. Louis City.
However, comparing metropolitan area to metropolitan area, direct from the publishers of the report....

St. Louis ranks 68th in metropolitan murder rate.

That is 68th behind such dangerous cities as Tulsa, OK (57th), Hot Springs, AR (47th), and Pine Bluff, AR (tied with Detroit for 1st)

==Cities are ranked based on more than just their crime rate, Morgan said. Individual crimes such as rape or burglary are measured separately, compared to national averages and then compiled to give a city its ranking. Crimes are weighted based on their level of danger.==

Didn't the police department just change a policy pertaining to police reports?

Hmmm....
