How much are those scanners going for these days at rummage sales and flea markets?

The sample ballot for 23 is wrong. Not all 23 voters get to decide the hot 65th district race. There are three House seats in 23.

The Ward 23 Ballot is correct - it is listed as one of the ballots that is applicable to Ward 23. Please check the BOE website at www.stlelections.com. The website language reads: "This ballot is the ballot some voters in the 23rd Ward will see."

Howard we finally agree on something. What a horrible scan. In their defense (I can't believe I am defending them) the originals are a weird size: 8.5" x 18". Thus, your typical flatbed scanner isn't going to work.

The real question is why are they scanning a document they, or someone they hired, produced? Wouldn't you just save the file as a PDF and indicate it needs to fit on letter sized paper. Must be Windows users...

I believe Mulligan Printing produced the actual optical-scan ballots.

But I agree: it's really weird not only the sample ballots, but also the letter from the BOE with the full ballot texts, are scanned in! And I think my wife's all-in-one machine at home (which I use a lot to post PDFs of readings for students), generates better quality images!

Ah, well.
