This looks like a way to get on the Amendment 2 gravy train.

Stem cell reasearch is an issue dear to me for personal but not economic reasons. I very much want it passed. I do not think the people previously working the polls for the Progressive Party, that I had contact with, would be an asset to passage of the amendment. Quite the opposite, I think they would be a liability. I hope they do not work the polls for stem cell. I am not saying that Progressive Party volunteers are all nut jobs, or that even a majority are nut jobs. There are smart, sincere citizens among their ranks. My concern is that a handful of nut jobs at certain polling places means a loss of votes crucial to this important issue. If the Progressives/Greens truly support the stem cell initiative, they should put their egos aside and let others do the public advocating.

Maybe someone can explain how the Progressive Party can have candidates on the November ballot but have no political party committee registered with MEC. There's a PAC but no party committee filing ethics reports. There are myriad statutory differences between the two.

The PPMO website does not carry the Paid for by + Treasurer. It is all very confusing.

Interesting. The Gateway Green Alliance is against stem cell research because it would benefit corporations -- you know, like the sales of telephones, silverware and diapers.

Glad that some Greens are thinking clearly.
