More on the 4th

To elaborate from yesterday with a couple examples:

In the 15th Ward, Smith hit the 2nd precinct heavily and received 79.47%, compared to 63.91%, 71.34%, 74.90% in the 1st, 3rd, and 5th precincts.

In the 18th Ward, he hit the 2nd and the 5th, getting 22.07% and 14.29% compared to 11.19% and 12.50% in the 4th and 6th.

Not as consistent in the 27th Ward. Smith hit the 4th precinct and got 10.26% of the vote, higher than the 6.18% and 7.14% in the 1st and 6th, but lower than the 11.81% he received in the 2nd precinct.

What factors influenced which precincts the campaign targeted?

This is silly. Jeff got 60 votes, or less than 1% of his district win, from 27th ward.

publiceye-our strategy from the get go was to run hard district wide. We knew Jeff was the ONLY candidate who could do that. We thought that Jeff could not at all garner the amount of African American votes he did in the '04 congressional, but he proved all of us wrong. Jeff had a decent base, but not what us strategists would call your conventional big glob of vote base that were 1's all the way through the campaign. We simply mapped out the ENTIRE district and Jeff and "the Kids" knocked on over 90,000 doors. Sam knows best, but I think that number is closer to 100,000. (Each Missouri Senate district covers approximately 160,000 residents.) What the election results DON'T show, is something me, Jeff and Jeff's close advisors on the congressional race, know, Jeff's uniquely magnanimous propensity to sway voters' opinions through his hard work, campaigning the right way, all while being bludgeoned by just about everybody (Missouri Dems/Republicans and out of staters). The people and their faces I saw voting on 2006 primary election day convinced me he would win handily just as those same voters scared the dickens out of me in '04.

Yes. That's how it happened. They did it all on their own. Jeff and the Kids. All the rest of us had to do was show up and vote. I can't remember when some of us have had such a relaxing election cycle.

Howard--I feel you bro. Yea, it was a real relaxing election cycle. With expectations for Jeff of having to go wire to wire, take the professional type hits from EVERYWHERE and not complain about them, and win by 5 points to prove your the real deal and he goes and wins it by 11 points running away. Yea, I would say that is a relaxing election cycle. Again, buckle your seat belts the ride is just beginning.

What lit drops in what wards am I responsible for? This would have been an election day topic of conversation. You cannot answer this question because you are not intimate with the campaign. You do not represent the campaign and you are annoying many, many people. Please go away and get professional help.

Are we a little jealous Howard? Did mommy and daddy not teach you to play in the sandbox nicely with others?

Howard--what no more vitriol (feel free to look this word up) from you? Sounds like your p.eye's wingman. You disappoint US. Yes US, I have conferred with my Smith campaign colleagues and we have determined that it is you who need serious anger management counsel along with the conventional mental health therapy and prescriptions. Good luck and get well soon.
