Despite rumors, Brian Wahby retained his position as Chair of the City's Democratic Central Committee this evening. He was unopposed.
Yaphett El-Amin did successfully run to replace Pat Moss as Vice Chair.
congrats to my pal Brian. I wasn't really familiar with him previous to his takeover 2 years ago, but hes certainly proven himself to be a pretty good guy with me at least.
"Despite rumors . . ."
Why didn't you report them when they mattered?

Posted by Nick on Wed., Aug 16, 2006 at 10:07 AMHe retained his position because he was UNOPPOSED! Anyway does position do?

What you heard was not all rumored information.
However, in the end, the only challenged executive board seat of the Democratic Central City Committee was that of Vice-President. The election of V.P. was highly charged and very close by the way 28-25 El-Amin/Moss. There simply was not the energy nor organization to go after Wahby's seat. Once Rep. El-Amin got what she wanted to heck with the chairmanship.
As the old political adage goes--
Every 'man' for herself/himself and God for us all!
