Prediction: a mini-run on air-conditioned vans.
Posted by publiceye on Fri., Aug 4, 2006 at 11:25 AMChannel 2 (Dave Murray) agrees with The Weather Channel (the link above). Channel 5 is predicting "lower 90s" with a chance of a scattered thunderstorm. Channel 4's web site isn't offering anything beyond Sunday.

Seriously, this is starting to look like 2004's primary where traditionally porch sitting areas had no one on the street--meaning lower turnout in African-American areas as it's harder to do GOTV.
Posted by ArchPundit on Fri., Aug 4, 2006 at 12:04 PMWeather aside, I really do not expect a high turnout. This race may be heated but there isn't anything else out there motivating enough for the normal joe to care about. I expect a low turnout in this election. Whoever has the best GOTV program could definitely increase their chances of winning by dragging their voters to the polls.
Posted by The Southsider on Fri., Aug 4, 2006 at 2:47 PMSpeaking of turnout, a while back the BOE quietly posted a complete report on the April election including precinct-by-precinct turnout and vote totals, on their website. It's in PDF, but worth a look anyway.

Thank goodness that's changed again! 87 for a high now.
