Who will win the 57th? I haven't heard anyone say that they think Karla May can win. ACC endorsed Joe Palm, but my gut tells me that the El-Amin name recognition will carry the day.
Any guesses?
I can't believe the ACC endorsed Joe Palm.
The guy's a close talker.
Posted by George on Fri., Jul 28, 2006 at 9:33 AMThe best candidate in the State Representative race for the 57th District is unequivocally JOE PALM. Anyone who lives in the 57th District and respects experience, education, honesty, integrity, quality, and all the main ingredients for the best leadership would be wise to
TOUCH #29, on August 8, 2006.
Joe Palm has the most experience as a staff member in all levels of government that are relevant to the State Representative seat. Joe Palm has worked in Mayor's Office, State Representative Office, and Congressional Office, and on numerous major campaigns of elected officials that remain in office to this day. In fact, some of the elected officials would be supporting JOE PALM right now if it were not for mandatory obligations!!!
Joe Palm has the most education in the State Representative race, holding an undergraduate and graduate degree from Saint Louis University.
Joe Palm was assigned the Chairmanship by Brian Wahby (Chairman of the St. Louis City Democratic Central Committee) to fight against charter amendments A,B,C,D, and Joe Palm led the charge to bring all the elected officials together (citywide) for a press conference at City Hall to denounce the attempt to put short pants on the citizens and some of our citywide elected officials.
Joe Palm has worked with and supported many grassroots leaders for years, ask Percy Green, Jamala Rogers, Lizz Brown, Zhaki Baruti, Irene Smith, Bernie Hayes, Cleo Willis, Keith Antone Willis, Minister Akhbar Muhammad, Minister Donald Muhammad, Pastor Al Smith, Pastor B.T. Rice, Rabbi Susan Talve, Malik Ahmed, Rosetta Keeton, Halbert Sullivan, Antonio French, Ken Mc Coy, Kevin Bryant, Nkrumah Zuberi, Wally Amusa, Ollie Mae Stewart, Don Fritz, Joyce Littlefield, JoAnn Williams, Mother Marie Fowler, and the list goes on and on. We don't always agree on everything, but we all are committed to our causes we take on.
Joe Palm is the only ELECTED DEMOCRATIC OFFICIAL in the State Representative race for the 57th
District. He is the elected Committeeman of the "Mighty" 26th Ward, and has served in that capacity since 2003. No other candidate has been a public servant longer or can equal the amount of experience, education, and passion for the community they serve. VISIT WWW.JOEPALM.COM and go to the qualifications section!!!!
On AUGUST 8, 2006, VOTE FOR JOE PALM
AND TOUCH #29,
REMEMBER WHEN YOU VOTE JOSEPH "JOE" PALM,
YOU'RE IN GOOD HANDS!!!!
This will not even be close. El-Amin will win easily.
Posted by Umar on Sat., Jul 29, 2006 at 2:37 PMMr. El-Amin (Yaphett's husband) is running on the coattail of his wife's name, which is the only thing he has going in this race. Mr. El-Amin was appointed just a year ago to Committeeman by his wife (Yaphett) to the horror of the 1st Ward residents. He has yet to run for Committeeman in the 1st Ward, and needs a victory bad in this current race to have something to put on his resume other than being Yaphett's husband.
Yaphett's shoulders have to be hurting when she has to carry herself and her husband in this current election. Mr. El-Amin has no political experience of his own other than what Yaphett has given him. In fact, if Yaphett was not the State Representative and Committeewoman, he would not have been chosen Committeeman.
Everything Mr. El-Amin has gained in politics is due to Yaphett being his wife. Yaphett should be commended for carrying her husband through life and creating opportunities for him that he would never have received if it were not for her.
If Mr. El-Amin was to win easily, nobody will be fooled about why he won! It will be as it has always been, because of Yaphett!!!!! Hell, most people even refer to him as Yaphett's husband, as if he does not have his own identity.
Most people still think Yaphett is running for re-election and that there is a mistake going on with the campaign signs. Carry him on Yaphett, go hither!!!!
Good luck in the State Representative race Mr. Yaphett El-Amin!!!!
Posted by Get Real on Sat., Jul 29, 2006 at 10:45 PMJoe is a close speaker I must agree,Joe also has the most formal education. I believe you need more than formal education to work in your community. The most important tool is common sense. On a scale of 1-10 Joe is a five. I believe Joe would do better if he stop talking so much. If you know Joe you would agree.
Mr. Yahett will win this election if his wife wins her race. Unfortunately the 57 District voters do not read the fine print that says T.D. El-AMin on his billboard in the communiites. This was great planning by the EL-Amin Family.
We can say what we want about any canidate, but if your name is not on the ballot then you must congratulate those who step to the plate.
Good Luck to all the candidates!
