Should be a Dem pick up in 22nd. Fix notes that McKenna is crushing Alter in fundraising.
Go ahead and believe it if you want, but if anything it only means that McKennna wont get scarce resources from the Dem Committees. GOP is entirely another story. But only after the primary.
Posted by kevin on Wed., Jul 26, 2006 at 10:45 AMBelieve what you want, but with 100K and a last name like "McKenna" in JeffCO, a Democratic County, Alter doesn't have a chance.
Posted by Gregg on Wed., Jul 26, 2006 at 3:57 PMThe name and $100K are great but McKenna is also one of the nicest, most decent guys I've met in politics. Alter should be very concerned.
Posted by ellen on Wed., Jul 26, 2006 at 4:17 PMDon't forget Alter introduced the NO COLD BEER law that was written by a grade schooler. Not a good bill in Anheuser-Busch's back yard.

Ryan McKenna has the things that Democrats value most: Money and a Dad who held the same office before. Now that realignment has sent more corporate money into the Democratic Party, Democrats have come to like money better than people. Let's just count dollars instead of votes!
And actually, I think a candidate's willingess to piss off Anheuser Busch is a good thing.
But, yes, Alter's toast. It was a long-time Democratic seat before the 16th and 22nd traded parties in a special election, and this November both new incumbents will bite the dust as the districts trade them back to each other.

I was talking about all the Jeffco folks that like to drink AB products... and speaking of people power and candidates.
"Democrats have come to like money better than people."
To be fair all political partys that wan't candidates to be winners want huge sums of money...
Getting alittle utopian there Mr. Oracle
