Federally funded, faith-based "Pregnancy Resource Centers" or "Crisis Pregnancy Centers" are spreading FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) about abortion issues, says Planned Parenthood.
According to Paula Gianino, CEO of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region:
"Women who enter these facilities are walking into a trap. There is no excuse for taxpayer dollars going to ideologically-driven, religiously-based fake clinics that take advantage of vulnerable women."
Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) submitted a report outlining the nature of the FUD, in which several female staffers feigned being 17 and pregnant, and called some of these centers. Apparently, the information they got was misleading, and flat out incorrect.
Here is the Planned Parenthood Release
I hope Bob Casey puts the hurt on Rick Santorum. If it happens, Paula Gianino and Henry Waxman (and a number of other Dems) will have more to worry about than kicking sand at Bush's faith based initiatives.
