Arch City Chronicle

people. politics. st. louis.

Back from visiting my parents

Couple of things:

City's Democratic Central Committee unanimously endorsed the two November ballot proposals involving increasing the minimum wage and protecting stem cell research.

Amber Boykins received the Teachers’ Union (Local 420) endorsement.

More coming.

It is not true that Local 420 has endorsed Amber Boykins yet.

I also got a tip from an Amber supporter, around 1:00 yesterday, then I spent the next 8 hours trying to confirm it. If you had done the same thing you would have learned that Local 420 has NOT endorsed anyone yet.

As I reported last night, Its COPE committee has recommended it, but the executive board is not bound to that.

Local 420 MAY endorse as early as today, but they have not yet.

Sometimes the story takes more than 5 words. Your copy-and-paste journalism is going to get you in trouble, Dave.

Antonio,

Nia was on the scene.

The executive board, to my knowledge, has always taken the recommendation of the COPE Committee; however, it is in the COPE Bylaws that recommendations must be approved by the executive board.

Good investigative work, though. No need to get bent out of shape. IT IS WHAT IT IS.

Thanks Dave for your unbiased, credible journalism. You are a breath of fresh air for St. Louis politics.

After all...Niaknows
