The Daily Stew

Brother Combest missed the Post's lead editorial on Harris' resignation.

Source says Ronnie White on way out. Looks right - a GOPer had told me last week White hadn't hired any new clerks yet.

Coro looking for Fellows manager.

Ingrid Owen (running in the 74th) promises to sing a selection at her fundraiser - June 9, 6-8pm, at the Formula.

I dont get this John Combest thing. Everybody involved in state politics checks him first thing every morning, but he is obviously biased toward certain candidates...He carefully omits links to stories that would help his friends rivals. If he is partisan he needs to come right out and say it so that people arent relying him on an accurate account of the days news. He is doing a diservice to everyone, including the people he supports if he is not giving links to all available info that is out there.

Joseph, that is a bunch of B.S. First, yes John has a political ideology, if he didn't he wouldn't bother doing all the work involved in his website. We all have our political interests (and biases) that is why we read these sites. I love to read the ACC, but I don't expect to see a big banner screaming "I am a bleeding heart liberal". I can see that from reading it. And Combest DOES NOT discriminate when it comes to the articles he chooses. Do you even check out his site. It is full of Blunt bashing crap (whenever it is in the news). He does us all a service by including a wide compilation of news-stories, covering a broad spectrum of political views.

As one of JohnCombest.com's frequent readers, I have to say that the site's persistent even-handedness is the quality that makes John a "must read" and -- sometimes -- infuriating.

I support the ACC, but really wish that Dave wouldn't promote Combest.

I haven't read Combest since the day that he cleverly juxtaposed a pro same-sex marriage editorial or story (don't remember which) with an otherwise unremarkable news story about a same-sex child molester. He clearly has an ideology, which I could deal with, but he's also very mean-spirited and, I would say, bigoted. And remember when he went ballistic when someone else dared to rip off his trademark scaled-down "design" (which, of course, he originally copied off Matt Drudge)?
