One 24th ward politico tells ACC that former alderman Tom Bauer is starting to make the rounds again at neighborhood meetings. He’s been spotted at Hi-Pointe, Franz Park and Clayton Tamm nabe meetings in recent weeks.

Now that there is no more straight ticket voting... Maybe, just maybe, the White Power vote will not be enough to carry an election.

Hello Tim R, I am confused about your posting. FYI the "White Power" vote supported Tom Bauer...and he was recalled in one election and then lost decisively in the special election. Clearly, "White Power" doesn't have that much clout. Plus, straight-ticket voting typically isn't much of a factor in the 24th Ward since the aldermen are selected during the spring elections. Also, the Republicans nominated a good candidate in the last election. Yet, she could only garner 21 percent of the vote.

Please tell me if I am missing something.

When the parties (both) do not do a good enough job of screening their candidates and the straight ticket voter selects the candidate, who is to blame?

I was speaking in generalities and you in a specific instance...so sue me. There was a candidate RE-elected to a position who has strong ties to White Power. Am I missing something?

Tom has indeed been making the rounds drumming up support and more importantly money. Is he going to be a viable candidate? Not a chance. He was beat resoundedly in a special election so I'm willing to bet that he will be beat yet again by Ald.Waterhouse

I tend to agree with chuck that his White Power ties will be of no use for him. Its not like they have a PAC or have an Aryan Brotherhood office in the 24th ward.

Its just crazy ole tom the donkey man trying to regain his glory. Sad but true
