Via John Combest, the Missourian reports that the Missouri Senate Appropriations Committee cut $285,000 in funding from the University of Missouri system following actions by a UMKC-affiliated program that participated in protests of Medicaid cuts last year. The fine approximates the budget of the department that oversees the program. Questions remain whether University money was used to fund any activites, but the University says the group did misuse the University's name in its literature.
