Maybe these challengers are trying to follow in the footsteps of Willie Marshall. And Daly and Carpenter would be the two closest to Slay.

And it would be nice to see a fresh contest with both a Green and Republican challenger. Since the City really only has two parties, white Dems and black Dems, more than one "third party" challenger on a city-wide contest might show which has a stronger future as an opposition party. After all, didn't Marshall earn more against Slay than Chance (albeit separate elections)?
