Latest issue will be out tomorrow. It's focused entirely on the city's school system. Hope everyone has a chance to read it and enjoys it.
StL Fed Says: Businesses Don't Just Choose a City, They Choose a Specific Neighborhood.
Joe Palm gets the endorsement of Jesse Todd, committeeman of Ward 18; Mike Jones, former deputy mayor of St. Louis; and Arthur Washington, committeeman of the 21st.
Amber Boykins gets the endorsement of the 26th ward.
Is there a mistake in the ward number? No part of the 25th Ward--not one voter--is in the 4th senatorial district where Amber Boykins is a candidate.
Posted by St Louis Oracle on Mon., Mar 6, 2006 at 9:31 PMthere is. I'm changing it right now. Good catch. That's what happens when I try to do one thing at once.
Posted by dave on Tue., Mar 7, 2006 at 7:23 AMOn occasion, a City committeeperson will lend his or her name to a Lege campaign outside of his or her ward but within the City. This happens less frequently than a City committeeperson's involvement in a Lege campaign outside the City.

Whats the reasoning behind doing that kind of endorsement? Or is it a favor generally?
Posted by josh on Tue., Mar 7, 2006 at 12:03 PMDoes anyone think Kenny Jones has a chance to pick up any endorsements in this race?
Posted by wondering on Tue., Mar 7, 2006 at 12:21 PMIt's called Politics...
He will probably get the Bellefontaine/Calvary endorsement...
Most importantly, from the Fed report, am I supposed to support 6 homes jammed on 1 lot, but not 7?
Posted by TimR on Tue., Mar 7, 2006 at 1:13 PMPayback happens, helping someone who helped you or helping someone running against someone who did or you think did you wrong. But endorsements from outside a political subdivision happen for a lot of other reasons as well. Paying attention to your corners is something a smart politician does. You never know who is going to end up in your turf via redistricting. Establishing relationships outside your little world is not only good politics but can be good fun. Democrats like to socialize at the local, district, state levels. When you socialize, you form relationships, get to know families, and you're more likely to help each other out. Former State Rep. Ryan McKenna, D-JeffCo, was the 3rd generation in his family to serve in Lege. His grandfather was a State Rep. from the City. In a place all about relationships, it was not surprising that Ryan had City friends when he ran. If you are a member of the Lege or other elected with frequent dealings in Jefferson City, it seems to me a no brainer on why you'd help others from your party get elected to the Lege.
I will not be shocked when Kenny Jones receives one or more endorsements of the elected official persuasion.
I will not be shocked when there are one or more additional candidates running for the 4th as Democrat, Konservativnaya Khrystsiyanska, Republican, Whig, Prohibition, Libertarian, Togolese Youth Movement, Independent.
