On the expenditures page, he lumps together contributions to candidates not exceeding $100, instead of itemizing them (as required by law) lower on the same page under Contributions. It's as though he's hiding something.

The "Aw, shucks, I didn't know any better" defense from a seasoned politician is really phony.

Maybe this is a case of running something instead of running for something. He has a leading role in a certain statewide initiative petition. He could dump some or all of his money into that campaign.

Sen. Goode has been eyeing a run for St. Louis County Exec. for awhile. I had heard that he would run if Charlie lost, but that doesn't seem likely, so I imagine it has something to do with his smoking tax efforts
