Jeff Smith's report will show $35-40,000 raised; over $100,000 on hand.
That's strong, for a state Senate race. Let's see what the others do.

Anyone hear any numbers on Derio? I know he didn't file with the MEC until mid-to-late November. I would guess anything above $25K and they would have to be real pleased for a short quarter.
What about Amber and Yaphett?
Posted by Kevin on Thu., Jan 12, 2006 at 6:06 PMI wouldn't lower expectations for Derio's quarter- in order for him to be a credible candidate and to prove that he's not a spoiler he needs to post numbers much higher than 25K for this quarter and the next one. Otherwise, it'll be hard to take him seriously.
Posted by Marla on Fri., Jan 13, 2006 at 5:02 PMRaising big bucks doesn't necessarily mean he's NOT just a spoiler. Former School Board member Penny Alcott raised decent funds in her 1993 race for Comptroller against Virvus Jones and Jim Shrewsbury. It was established in the criminal proceedings that followed that the Alcott candidacy was specifically designed to spoil Shrewsbury's candidacy and that her campaign was financed in part by the Jones campaign.
