The law will permit something akin to smoking lounges. It is not a complete ban.
Posted by Howard on Fri., Dec 30, 2005 at 9:39 AMI am not in favor of any kind of a smoking ban and I am a non-smoker. You got places where you go where the majority of the people are smoking, and are regulars, and if people don’t like it they can go to a non-smoking place.

In the meantime, two big studies have appeared that further question the need for a smoking ban in St. Louis. Are aesthetic reasons sufficient to curtail use of a legal product on private property? Sadly smoking bans are really about yuppie dry cleaning bills rather than public health.
