Last Night's parties

The big three - McCaskill, Robin Carnahan and Jay NIxon - all had fundraisers last night. I only went to McCaskill's and Nixon.

A lot of the same old, same old until the end of the Nixon event when the crowd was breaking up. Sam Fox dropped in and he and Nixon huddled for ten or so minutes. Fox had been in the building for another event and didn't bring a check. It wasn't the three of us talking, so I can't say that I know what the topic of discussion was. But Fox is one of the Missouri businessmen helping to fund the stem cell ballot initiative.

It made me think because earlier in the evening I swung by the 28th ward party. Republican Ed Martin was there and he was talking stem cell (he also wrote a commentary piece about it in the latest ACC. Pick it up, please).

Stem cell seems to have transfixed a lot of Republicans.
