How the 06 fight card is shaping up

The landscape as I see it.

Mannies has Jetton running for Auditor, and Kanzler has a committee formed for Auditor as well, but I'm skeptical about both.

You are missing the current most likely Democratic nominee for Auditor. Think outstate, wealthy, experience, CPA.

Come now, Chris, don't be such a tease. Devulge the identity of this wealthy, outstate, experienced CPA to us myopic urbanites.

And does this person have any interest in running?

Another CPA Dave didn't mention is St Louis Alderman Steve Conway. His 1998 loss to attorney McCaskill (and that of fellow CPA, Republican deputy auditor Chuck Pierce) lowered the bar for state auditor, so that so far names of no accountants (certified or otherwise) have been mentioned to date, except for the mystery person above.

Just to give you a little more--member of executive committee of the party, PLEO (Party Leaders and Elected Officials aka big shots) delegate to the 04 convention.

I'm disappointed in the fact you haven't caught on yet.

By the way, she is also an attorney in addition to being a CPA.

Sadly, Haskell Hollman isn't available.

Susan Montee? I know she has been interested in the position of Auditor for a long time.

We have a winner. ACC should have caught this--even Mannies mentioned her. Safe bet she's the D on the ticket, barring an unexpected surprise.

You are right. Susan Montee is a great candidate. She has the right background and is the only potential candidate who has the resources to take the Republicans on head-to-head. As a sitting Auditor, CPA and Attorney she would be outstanding.

Actually, she WILL be outstanding. Rumor has it she is announcing her intention to run next Wednesday (September 28th). Further, and this comes on very good authority, she is going to contribute $500,000 (yes, half a million dollars) of her own money to kick-off the warchest.

This is exactly what the Democratic Party needed. A qualified, experienced, and outstate candidate who can finance a campaign.
