Just got a phone call from a tipster who heard that he might be interested if McCaskill balks.
A tip from one of the same guys who politically screwed Alan Wheat?

Posted by maria chappelle nadal on Tue., Aug 23, 2005 at 3:41 PMUnfortunately, Missouri isn't much more progressive then when Alan Wheat ran for Senate in Missouri.
Ronnie is smart and would be a good candidate, but pragmatically, there is no way he wins.
Posted by stlguy on Tue., Aug 23, 2005 at 3:52 PMJudge White isn't thinking of stepping down is he? I really don't think we could handle Baby Blunt appointing a Supreme Court Justice.
Posted by Southside Voter on Tue., Aug 23, 2005 at 4:19 PMRonnie White has about as much chance of getting elected to the senate as Onion Horton does. Remember we are in Missouri ( not that anypalce else would be that much better). This is Red State America and true-blue Dems wont get elected to statewide office without a family name or celeb status.
Posted by Umar on Tue., Aug 23, 2005 at 4:29 PMHaving known Ronnie White for many years, I think he would be an excellent candidate for the US Senate and would represent the state extremely well. Unfortunately, I don't think that the outstate voters would offer much support. I also dread having Boy Blunt possibly naming a supreme court justice on the state level. I'm sure whomever he would appoint would be to the right of Hitler and Attila the Hun. As much as I hate to admit it, I have to agree with the stlguy.
