Ruth Ehresman will join Amy Blouin's Missouri Budget Project on August 15. She will focus on health policy.
Hmm... I thought when I saw that MoBudget was advertising for new staffers, that it might be a sign of somebody from CMC wanting to move on. They have pretty similar missions, ultimately, in lobbying on behalf of Medicaid recipients, etc. While I'm sure they collaborate heavily, perhaps MoBudget has fewer traditional funders to please? With a small staff, you can be a lot more dynamic.
I don't know anything about the personalities involved; just talking organizational dynamics. Whatever it takes to improve the lives of low-income families, I support wholeheartedly. I don't want to see such orgs get caught up with infighting and turf-grabbing, however. That can detract from the mission.
