I just wanted to post my official statement on this because I want all of you to know how I feel:

After living, working, and politicking in the St. Louis area for the past 10 years, today I have mixed emotions as I announce that I am moving to the Kansas City area. I was lucky enough to get an acceptance on my marriage proposal to my girlfriend Susan Newton three months ago, and career opportunities for both of us have shifted the direction of our lives. This news is bittersweet for me, as I have grown to love the St. Louis area and all the City and its people have to offer. I was honored to have the support of a number of you during my recent run in the 2004 Democratic Congressional primary. I was equally honored to have the moral support of many more that ultimately voted for other capable candidates in our race – and consistantly offered encouragement to me to press ahead with my efforts and ideas.

I have no doubt that Susan and I will live happy and productive lives in Kansas City. Both of us were born and raised in the Kansas City area and have a number of friends and family that will nurture and support us in our future endeavors. We are looking forward to getting involved in Kansas City business and politics to work towards progressive change as the area continues its revitalization efforts. At the very least, I am sure you have not heard the last from me.
