Well, I guess Russ had to vote "yes" on this one; otherwise, in '06 Federer or some other right-wing opponent could run ads saying "Russ Carnahan supports flag burning". Lacy has a safe enough seat that a serious Republican challenger is unlikely.

Here's my question: Would this constitutional amendment protect only the current US flag, or historical flags such as the Confederate battle flag? Now THAT would be scary. Yes, I realize the Confederate flag was not an official US flag, but I still wonder...
