NSO Update from Rogers, Talve

Friends,

Here is an update on the NSO situation. The Aldermanic Ways and Means Committee has scheduled a public hearing on the NST office on June 7 at 9:00 at the Board of Aldermen Room 230 at City Hall. It is essential that we have a good turn out at this hearing. Please let us know if you can attend and if you are willing to testify. You should have an opportunity to sign up to testify at the hearing. Also, please spread the word to anyone else who you think can attend.

Jamala Rogers
Susan Talve

P.S. Please email a copy of your statement if you have not done so already. We would like to have the maximum number of statements. You can still send a statement even if you have written to or talked with your Alder(wo)man directly.

The latest email from NST friends as of last night is as follows:

Friends,

Apparently a few Aldermen and the Mayor's office have reached a "compromise" on the future of NST. Today Anna Ginsburg, who has run the program for many years and kept it indepenent of petty politics was removed from her position. This "compromise" is sure to include other changes that will make the NSOs less responsive to the community. No community input was sought before making these deciscions.

Please contact Mayor Slay at City Hall Room 200, 1200 Market St. St. Louis MO 63103 and let him know how you feel about these developments.

Tuesday's hearing (June 7 at 9:00 AM at the Board of Aldermen) is now of crucial importance. Please come and bring others with you. We must protect the NST
