Embracing the new wave

Speaking of expanding websites, Mayor Slay, one of the newest additions to the blogging world, has jumped right ahead into the world of Podcasting. You can download the first edition of the podcasting here.

The podcast features Great Rivers Greenway District executive director David Fisher biking the St. Louis Riverfront trail.

from your mouth to her ears (and column): Deb picks up for today's edition, but manages to muddy the waters by assuming anything with "pod" in it is technically the same? Less techie even than me....

"POD PEOPLE: Our own Mayor Francis Slay joins the ranks of tech-savvy politicians such as John Edwards who have entered the realm of "podcasting." Translation: he has produced an audio computer file that can be downloaded and played on an iPod or similar device. Of course, hizzoner is not the first local pol to travel down the pod path. Dick Gephardt, in a New York Times exit interview last year, revealed that Nelly stars on his iPod. Slay’s own tepid 10-minute podcast takes listeners on a bike ride on the riverfront trail. "Country Grammar" it is not, but what else is Slay to do with a six-figure campaign account and no opponent in sight?"
