And the issue for Missouri's budget - education funding. Legislators will suffer through a politically painful game of twister and pass some change to foundation formula thereby changing the facts of the case and delaying the lawsuit's remedy for a year or two. But eventually a judge will be deciding this issue.

Now if only the editorials and op/eds weren't so amazingly boring. I'm forgiven for not finishing the seven-page New Yorker articles, but really 600 words shouldn't be such a struggle, right? Just give me at least one editorial or op/ed that is both insightful and interesting. Just one, I'd be happy.

I disagree re. the memo story. I'd be the first to jump on the police if I thought they had done something wrong here. But I think we don't realize how many nutcases call the cops and simply make up stories to get attention (or because they're just crazy). If those 6-8 stories were the best that JK could come up with, then, well . . . I don't know. Frankly, of those stories profiled, several sounded fishy/made up to me too. Like, why did that one woman take a shower immediately after calling the cops to report an intruder? That was strange.

Anyway, who is best to judge the credibility of these people? The cop who was there, or some reporter who talked to them months later? Nonstory--sorry.

Problem is a Police Board member asked Mokwa about it and he replied that he wasn't aware of it. He either lied or was way out-of-touch.

Also, not following the Sunshine Law is another strike.
