I'm surprised the reporter didn't mention stem cell research. It could be the most divisive issue of them all, because pits the Republicans two main camps against each other... Big business vs. Christian fundamentalists. It will be interesting to see which side wins.

I think very optimistic to think anything good will come out of this term. While stem cell research will be a good spectator sport issue, the issues that actually effect wide swaths of the population, workers comp and the ability to sue and win damage awards, will be written by the Republicans for the Republicans. Education funding? I take a wait and see attitude. State funding of medicare/medicaid? Will be interesting.
