After the election, many elections...

What do politicos start doing after an election? Start planning for the next election.

The St. Louis American's Alvin Reid has reportedly been approached about the possibility fo running for the Kirkwood City Council.

Former 3rd CD candidate Jeff Smith, likewise, is said to have been asked to consider running for St. Louis Board of Education.

Both confirm being approached and both deny that they are going to run.

The search goes on...

That's right - Jeff lives in Clayton.

Interestingly, Lacy and Ivie Clay live not too far away, but in the City of St. Louis's Wydown-Skinker neighborhood.

I wouldn't mind running for the school board myself, but since my mother-in-law is a teacher in the district, I might not be eligible myself. I'm pretty sure I'm ok on the residency term: City homeowner since 2001.

Caution! The seats that are up this time are those of the good people (Hilgemann, Haas and O'Brien). Haas might not seek reelection if he pursues his perennial bid for mayor, but that might be the only opening worth pursuing. The Gang of Four aren't up until 2007.

Haas is good people? How is being a raving gadfly who offers nothing constructive good? He's also allowed to run again as the primary is on a different ballot from the general. He needs to be defeated. Hilgemamnn is not going to run again and O'Brien may well run with the laughable combination of George Cotton and Bill Purdy. Sort of a Happy Times Are Here Again on acid tour. Let's go back to insolvency and no accountability and getting ripped off by vendors because no one has a clear curriculum! Wooohooooooo....

Schoemehl and Clinkscale are up in 2006, btw and Jackson and Archibald in 2007.
