Subject: Unpleasant Odor being addressed

There is an unusual and unpleasant order throughout the building and the
maintenance staff is working diligently to address the problem. Your
patience and tolerance is appreciated.

UPDATE: It is a city-wide stench, according to Jake Wagman.

I can confirm the city-wide nature of this odor - sewer gas build-up, it seems. I first noticed it near Jefferson & 40, at UPS. Then went to City Hall about 11:00 this morning -- to get our marriage license! -- and the Fire Dept was just leaving. I don't think anybody went to the hospital, 'cause I saw several empty stretchers. The Rotunda was still stinky, but Room 127 (marriage license/vital records) was ok by then. I ran into one of my City Hall friends who said it was a problem in all the buildings in the immediate area - Carnahan Courthouse, Justice Center, etc.

However, even further south near Gravois and Hampton, there was a similar odor, although that could have just been because of low water in the River des Stink.

I think the smell is the residue of the PDs endorsement of Mark Smith instead of Jeff Smith that has left us all with Russ Carnahan. What a stinker!
