UMSL to hold forum '2004: The Real Election'
Political scientists, journalists to discuss upcoming elections

WHEN: Noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 19

WHERE: Century Room A at the Millennium Student Center, UMSL

SPONSOR: Department of Political Science at UMSL

COST: Free and open to the public

DETAILS: "2004: The Real Election" will feature a rotating panel of scholars from the Department of Political Science at UMSL and members of the St. Louis-area news media. They will discuss the upcoming Missouri and national elections, international relations, U.S. foreign policy and war in Iraq.

Participating UMSL scholars will include Lana Stein, David Robertson, David Kimball, Terry Jones, Richard Middleton, Kenneth Thomas, Nancy Kinney, J. Martin Rochester and Ruth Iyob. Participating news media members will include Alvin Reid, city editor at The St. Louis American, and Jo Mannies, political correspondent at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

"2004: The Real Election" will be an open forum. Audience members will be encouraged to ask panelists questions, make comments and participate in the discussion
