Lucky March isn't a 30-day month

By my count Carnahan's campaign filing shows that about half - $66,000 of his $125,000 total - of his contributions were received on March 31.

Whew. Also, unless I missed it, he didn't receive any contributions in January. Quarter started mighty slowly and ended right on time!

I think Russ was still stuck in that trial in K.C. for most of January. That's probably why he didn't raise any money that month.

That is a likely reason. Good thinking, Mu.

To some point Russ' slow start can be the trial and certainly understandable, but the money he did pull in at the last second was from

A) Family
B) Members of Congress
C) Union PACs

Without those he would have come in well below $100,000. He's maxed out his mother's PAC and Tom can only do $500 more.
